    Redeem on Amazon.com and read the balance

    1. 1Sign in to your Amazon account and open Your Account, then Gift cards.
    2. 2Choose Redeem a gift card and enter the claim code (scratch gently to reveal it on a physical card).
    3. 3Your gift card balance is shown on the same page and is applied automatically to future orders.

    Redeem in the Amazon Shopping app

    1. 1Open the Amazon Shopping app and go to your account.
    2. 2Tap Gift cards, then Redeem a gift card, and enter or scan the claim code.
    3. 3The updated gift card balance shows at the top of the Gift cards screen.

Good to know

  • Once redeemed, a balance belongs to that account and cannot be moved to another one, so redeem to the account you actually shop with.
  • If a code says it was already redeemed, check the account it was applied to before assuming it is used up — someone in the household may have claimed it.
  • Physical cards from a store with a PIN-style scratch panel still redeem with the same claim code method.
  • Amazon gift card balances apply to purchases on Amazon.com only, not to third-party sites.
