1. Acceptance of these terms

These Terms of Service (the “Terms”) are an agreement between you and The Wallet Station (“we”, “us”). They cover the The Wallet Station website, the waitlist, and the The Wallet Station mobile app (together, the “Service”). By visiting the website, joining the waitlist or installing the app you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy and Cookie Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.

2. The Service and the private beta

The Wallet Station is a gift-card wallet. The app stores the gift cards you scan or type in, shows the remaining balance, reminds you before a card or promotional balance expires, and shows the barcode at the register.

The Service is in private beta. Features may be added, changed or removed without notice, invites are issued in batches, and the beta may be paused or ended at any time. Balance checks and reminders are conveniences, not guarantees: always confirm with the card issuer before relying on a balance.

3. Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years old and located in the United States to use the Service. By using it you confirm that you meet both requirements and that you are entitled to use every gift card you add to the app. We may refuse or withdraw access where we reasonably believe these requirements are not met.

4. Waitlist and accounts

Joining the waitlist places you in the queue for a beta invite. It does not create an account and does not guarantee an invite by any particular date. On this website your waitlist status is currently remembered only in your own browser; nothing is transmitted to us (see the Privacy Policy).

The app does not require an account to store cards. If we add optional accounts later, you are responsible for your credentials and for everything done under them.

5. Acceptable use

You agree to use the Service only for your own, lawful purposes. You must not:

  • add, check or redeem gift cards that you do not own or are not authorized to use;
  • use the Service to guess, test or enumerate card numbers or PINs, or to commit fraud of any kind;
  • scrape, crawl, reverse engineer or decompile the app or website, except where the law expressly permits it;
  • interfere with or overload the Service, or bypass any rate limit or security measure;
  • upload malicious code, or impersonate any person, retailer or card issuer.

We may investigate suspected misuse and cooperate with card issuers and law enforcement.

6. We are not a card issuer, bank or payment service

The Wallet Station does not issue gift cards, hold funds, process payments or store value. Every card you add remains subject to the issuer’s own terms, fees and expiry rules, and the issuer — not The Wallet Station — is responsible for honoring it.

The Wallet Station is not affiliated with, endorsed by or sponsored by Visa, Amazon, Target, Starbucks, Walmart or any other brand named on the website or in the app. Brand names and logos are trademarks of their owners and are used only to identify the cards you hold.

Balances shown in the app come from the issuer’s systems or from what you typed in, and can lag behind recent purchases, holds or promotional expiries. A shown balance is not a promise that the funds are available at the register.

7. Your card data and your responsibility

Card numbers, PINs and barcodes you add to the app are stored on your device and encrypted. They are not uploaded to our servers unless you turn on a feature that clearly says so. You are responsible for securing your device, for keeping your cards and PINs private, and for the accuracy of what you enter. If your device is lost or a card is used by someone else, we cannot restore a balance; contact the card issuer directly.

You keep all rights to what you add; we use it only to show it back to you and to check balances when you ask.

8. Intellectual property

The Service — its design, text, graphics, logo, code and balance guides — is owned by The Wallet Station or its licensors and protected by copyright, trademark and other laws. We grant you a personal, limited, non-transferable, revocable license to use the app and website as these Terms allow. You may not copy, sell, republish or build on any part of the Service without our written permission. Feedback you send about the beta may be used freely, without any obligation to you.

9. Third-party sites and links

The website links to issuer balance-check pages, app stores and other third-party sites, and the app may open them for you. Those sites have their own terms and privacy practices, which we do not control and are not responsible for. A link is not an endorsement. Any fee an issuer charges is between you and that issuer.

10. Disclaimers

The Service is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, title and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free or secure, that any balance shown is accurate or current, that a card will be accepted by any retailer, or that a reminder will reach you before a card expires.

11. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, The Wallet Station and its officers, employees and contractors will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for any loss of card value, profits or data, arising out of or relating to the Service, even if we were advised of the possibility. Our total liability for all claims relating to the Service is limited to the greater of the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim (currently nothing, because the beta is free) and fifty US dollars (US$50).

12. Indemnification

You agree to defend, indemnify and hold harmless The Wallet Station and its affiliates, officers and employees from any claim, loss, liability and expense (including reasonable legal fees) arising out of your use of the Service, your breach of these Terms, your violation of any law or of a third party’s rights, or any gift card you added to the app that you were not entitled to use.

13. Suspension and termination

You may stop using the Service at any time by deleting the app; card data stored only on your device goes with it. We may suspend or end your access to the beta, remove you from the waitlist or discontinue the Service, with or without notice, if we reasonably believe you have breached these Terms, if the law requires it, or as part of winding down the beta. Sections 6 through 12 and Section 14 survive any termination.

14. Governing law and venue

These Terms are governed by the laws of the United States of America, without regard to its conflict-of-law rules. Any dispute that cannot be resolved informally will be brought exclusively in the state or federal courts located in the United States of America, and you consent to their jurisdiction. Before filing a claim you agree to write to support@thewalletstation.com and give us thirty days to try to resolve it. Nothing in this section removes consumer rights that cannot be waived under the law of the place where you live.

15. Changes to these terms

We may update these Terms as the beta evolves. When we do, we will change the effective date at the top of this page and, for material changes, post a notice on the website or in the app before they take effect. Continuing to use the Service after that date means you accept the updated Terms.
