FAQ

Questions, answered

Everything people ask before joining the beta. If yours is not here, the help center has a direct line to the team.

Getting started

What the app is, where it runs, and how to get in.

What is The Wallet Station?

A wallet app for gift cards. You scan or paste a card once, the app keeps it with the rest, checks the balance for supported brands, shows the barcode at the register, and reminds you before it expires.

Is The Wallet Station really free to use?

Yes! You can download the app and store your gift cards for free. Optional premium features may be available in future updates.

When does it launch?

The Wallet Station is in private beta right now. We send invites in small batches so we can talk to every tester, and the waitlist is the only way in until the public launch. Leave your email and we will send your invite when a spot opens.

Which platforms does it run on?

iOS and Android. Beta testers are on both today, and the public launch will go to the App Store and Google Play at the same time. There is no web version planned for the first release.

Do I need an internet connection to use the app?

You can view saved cards offline, but scanning new cards or syncing balances requires an internet connection.

Cards & balances

Adding cards, checking what is left, and staying ahead of expiry dates.

Which gift cards can I add?

You can add most major retailers’ gift cards, including Amazon, Starbucks, Walmart, and more. We’re constantly expanding our supported brands.

Does it check balances for me?

For supported brands, yes: tap the card and the app checks the balance and keeps a history of every check. For brands that only answer by phone, the app opens a step-by-step guide with the number to call and the prompts to expect, and you type the balance in when you have it.

Can I add a card manually?

Yes. If a barcode will not scan or the card is worn, type the card number and PIN and pick the brand. Manually added cards get the same balance checks, barcode display and reminders as scanned ones.

Can I set reminders for my gift cards?

Yes! You can set expiration and usage reminders so you never lose leftover balances.

Privacy & security

Where your cards live and how to remove them.

How secure is my data?

We use industry-standard encryption to protect your card information. Your data never leaves your device without your consent.

Is my card data stored on your servers?

Your cards are stored on your phone, encrypted on the device. There is no account, so there is nothing to sync to us. When you check a balance for a supported brand, the app contacts that brand's balance service directly; The Wallet Station does not keep your card numbers or PINs on its servers.

How do I delete my data?

Swipe a card to delete it, or delete the app to remove every card at once — there is no account and no copy on our side. If you joined the waitlist and want your email removed, write to support@thewalletstation.com and we will take it off the list.
