Making gift cards impossible to forget
The Wallet Station is a wallet for gift cards: scan a card once, see what is left on it, pay from your phone, and get a reminder before it expires.
Our mission
Give people a simple way to store, check and spend every gift card they are given — so the card from a birthday, a bonus or a return never ends up forgotten in a drawer with a balance still on it. The app has to be faster than the card itself: quicker to find than a wallet, quicker to check than a phone call, and there before the expiry date, not after.
Our story
The Wallet Station started with a drawer. We kept finding gift cards with a few dollars left — a Starbucks card from a birthday, a Target card that had been through the wash — and nobody could remember what was still on them. Checking meant a website, a phone call and a PIN under a scratch-off panel, so most of the time the card went back in the drawer.
So we built the wallet we wanted. Point the camera at a card and it is saved. Ask for the balance and the app checks it, or walks you through the phone call for brands that offer nothing else. Forget about it and a reminder arrives a week before it expires. No account, no card-linking, nothing to set up.
Today The Wallet Station is in private beta with early testers on iOS and Android, and supports 24 brands with a written balance guide for each. Invites go out in small batches so we can talk to every tester. If you would like to be one of them, the waitlist is at the bottom of this page.
What we care about
Four rules that decide what goes into the app and what stays out.
Built for the register
Every screen is designed for the ten seconds at the counter: the barcode fills the screen, the balance sits next to it, and nothing asks you to log in.
Any card, any format
Plastic, e-gift and phone-only cards live side by side. 24 brands at launch, each with its own balance guide, and more as we write them.
Fast by default
Scanning takes a few seconds, balance checks run inside the app for supported brands, and saved cards open offline.
Shaped by testers
Every beta invite comes with a direct line to the team. What testers ask for decides what we build next.
A small team you can actually reach
A small team working with early testers to get the wallet right before launch. Questions, feedback, or a brand you would like supported — write to us and a person will reply.
