Expiry & fees

The money itself does not expire, but the plastic carries a valid-thru date. If that date passes with funds left, the issuer will send a replacement card. Some issuers charge an inactivity fee after 12 months without use — the cardholder agreement lists it.

    Call the number on the card

    2. 2Follow the prompts for a balance inquiry and enter the card number, expiration date and security code on the keypad.
    3. 3The balance is read back to you. Note it in The Wallet Station app so you do not have to call again.

Good to know

  • Gift Card Mall also sells retailer cards; those are checked with the retailer, not on this portal.
  • Keep the activation receipt until the first balance check succeeds.
  • The card spends anywhere the network on the front is accepted.
